ㅤsummarised personality.ㅤㅤOlivier filled the position of second son well enough. To this day he is easygoing and supportive. His sense of humor is as strong as ever, but often misplaced. He strives to do well for his city and his people, often to his detriment. He somehow manages to speak a thousand words, and yet say nothing at all. Loyal to a fault, he forgets to look for the ill in those he trusts.

arc 001. The Lord and Lady Theroux senior had two sons - Guerrier, their warrior, and Olivier, the spare. Although no one called him so to his face until after his elder brother's death. Olivier took up his first steel sword at twelve, abandoning the wooden one his brother had so long trained him with. Although it was not his brother's place to fight. Guerrier went to war, and never came home.After the funeral, Olivier joined with a unit of knights headed by a commander named Salomont de juviere . Salomont's betrayal caused the death of his brothers and sisters in arms, and the loss of his freedom. Out of fear that Salomont would learn of their son's survival and seek to silence him, Olivier's parents sequestered him away. They let the rumors fester of the end of their house's line, and waited.The Therouxs knew patience, and used it well.

arc 002. With Salomont's sentencing and subsequent death came freedom. Obligation. Olivier was instructed to find and take a wife. So he did, from the sweltering deserts of Ul'dah. If Ishgard wanted so badly to make a home for those beyond its walls, who was he to argue.Bitter about every aspect of current Ishgardian society, Olivier longs for the days when a war's end meant victory. He has recently begun to seek out work as a diplomat, in the hopes of changing the minds of those around him from the inside. Too many of his kinsmen are without home. Too many dragons roam the streets. More and more he does not recognize those he passes in the street, and it is for this reason alone that he ventures to places unknown.He even has some standing business in Gridania, and can often be seen at a mercenary company located in the Lavender Beds. His is a life of expectation he strives to meet, obligation he readily accepts, and honor he is quick to defend. Without the heir, the spare is more than ready to put on shoes he may never fill.The branch of peace has been sharpened to a spear, and he is prepared to extend either.

Olivier's older brother was a well respected knight. Many heard that he was snatched up by a dragon and subsequently dropped. While his body was recovered, many whisper he put himself in the beast's path on purpose.v2.newly married.present day.

Olivier was declared dead, along with the rest of his men, by his captain, salomont. for twenty years his family kept oddly silent about olivier's whereabouts. it was only after salomont was found guilty of heresy and died a twisted creation of man and monster that they revealed their son was alive and well. perhaps salomont would have silenced one of only -two- survivors of the wyvern attack that slaughtered their brothers and sisters in arms...

You expect me to believe that's the younger one? I bet they both died and they found some brume rat with dark hair to take his place. we saw what happened to the older one, but who knows about the younger?

Olivier and Maggie married in a hastily arranged marriage for the want of an heir, and the desire to expand her family's business connections. where once was only friendship, their bond has strengthened into deep, storybook love. the two are not often seen apart from one another's company, and lady theroux is said to have much of the control of the family's finances.

guerrier Theroux : the brother (deceased)The heir to the theroux line, guerrier, took up the sword for reasons entirely his own. when he was struck down in the dragonsong war his body was recovered and laid to rest in the family tomb. olivier has never truly recovered from his loss.

Jem Greystone : the secret third thingPrior to wedding margarette, olivier believed he would be unable to continue the family line and so added a viera friend to his family registrar. so far none have been wise to olivier's back-up plan.
